The Shared Care Maternity Program in Stony Plain has officially been cancelled. This program acted to bridge the gap between home and hospital birth; midwives like my mom Noreen Walker offered complete midwifery services to women who chose to deliver in the Westview Community Health Centre, in birthing rooms equipped with large comfortable tubs for water births. The conclusion of this partnership is truly a loss for our community. For information about the Shared Care Maternity Program contact 780 342 1300.
